Your own ISO
Any OS
Mount an ISO through the IPMI console’s virtual media and install anything the hardware supports.
Can I reinstall or change the operating system later?
Yes, as often as you like and at no cost: open the server in your dashboard and choose Reinstall. A reinstall erases the disks, so back up first. Moving from Windows to Linux also removes the Windows license from your next invoice.
Yes. Mount your own ISO image through the IPMI console’s virtual media and install anything the hardware supports, for example VMware ESXi with your own license, TrueNAS, NixOS or OPNsense.
No, it is billed monthly on top of the server: $2.75 per physical core, with a minimum of 8 cores. Remote Desktop Services licenses for end users are not included.
Which RAID layout is installed?
Two-disk servers are installed with software RAID 1 by default, so a single disk can fail without data loss. You can choose RAID 0 or no RAID when ordering or reinstalling. Storage servers let you choose a RAID or ZFS layout yourself.
